Why Sell With
ACES Gallery?
Our Gallery Auctions focus on curated items offered in a traditional “live” auction and are designed to leverage our expertise and active experience in today’s market.
International Reach
Our gallery auctions are advertised in trade publications and to a global network of collectors, dealers, and art enthusiasts.
Transparency
The auction process, including bidding increments and final sale prices, is visible to all participants, fostering trust and confidence in the transaction.
Quick Sale
Auctions offer a relatively expedited sales process compared to other methods such as private sales or consignment to art galleries.
Higher Potential
The excitement of the auction environment can lead to world record prices. Competitive bidding may drive up the price of artworks and other rare objects beyond what they might fetch through other sales channels.
ACES Gallery FAQs
We’ve answered some of the most common questions about consigning to our Gallery Auctions—covering the process and what to expect.
Getting Started
-
Items sold in our Gallery Auctions range from Fine Art, Jewelry, Silver and Vertu, Decorative Arts, Collectibles, Objet d’Art, Rugs and Textiles, Furnishings, Books and Manuscripts, and other selected items of merit.
-
ACES is full service, meaning we take care of everything. Items consigned to us are packed, moved, stored, and insured by ACES Gallery until the auction, which takes place at our facility.
Pricing & Fees
-
All items are given a pre-auction estimate range and a reserve price (a price below which an item will not sell) based on the research and expertise of our appraisers. These values are communicated to you and agreed upon before the auction.
-
ACES Gallery works on a consignment basis and our commission is our only charge. All expenses associated with presenting your materials are included in the commission, and there are no “hidden fees.” This means ACES only gets paid when we sell items for you.
-
We pay (either by wire transfer or check) within 30 days from the auction date. ACES provides a fully illustrated report with your sale results.
Logistics & Marketing
-
Events are highly publicized on an international basis in trade publications and online, to our mailing list of buyers, and we hold an open public preview period leading up to the auction where buyers can inspect all items for sale.
-
ACES will pack, move, and store all items to be included in the auction, fully insured, at no additional cost to you.
-
Because items sell “on reserve” some items may not meet the reserve price. Items that do not sell can be stored by ACES and re-offered in a future auction, or they may be returned to you.
