Why Sell Through an
Online Estate Sale?

Online estate sales offer a flexible, efficient way to sell a wide range of items while reaching a broad audience of buyers.

Reach and Accessibility

ACES online estate sales reach a broader audience than traditional estate sales. Potential buyers from anywhere in the world can participate.

Convenience

Sellers can offer large volumes of items without scheduling a physical sale event. Buyers can browse and bid on items at any time, without having to visit a specific location.

Higher Prices

A larger pool of potential buyers can lead to higher prices. The competitive bidding process can drive up prices, particularly for unique or valuable items.

Enhanced Privacy

Your home address is never advertised, and is only provided to winning, paying bidders.

Higher Sale Volume

On average, ACES sells more than 90% of auction items, compare that with a typical tag sale that might only sell 50% of what is offered.

Online Estate Sale FAQs

We’ve answered some of the most common questions about our online estate sales—covering the process, timing, and what to expect.

Getting Started

  • Everything is cataloged and photographed by your ACES team. Items usually remain in the home until the pickup day, when ACES will move all items from inside the home to a designated pickup area, either outside or in a garage, so no buyers come inside the home.

  • ACES is full service, meaning we take care of everything, from photographing, organizing, and moving items as necessary. Your auction manager may ask to help identify items or provide some history of provenance.

Timing

  • Whether you need items out in 1 day, or have a month ahead of you, ACES can work within your timeframe. The entire process can be completed within 1-21 days.

Listing and photography in the home typically takes 1-3 days.

We then publish and advertise the auction online for 7-14 days.

After the auction, there is typically a gap of 1-3 days to reconcile payments and schedule pickups—and after the pickup day, the project is wrapped.

Items & Pricing

  • We sell most personal property found in the home, including: furnishings, outdoor furniture, art, collectibles, decor, jewelry, stereo equipment, TVs and electronics, tools and equipment, kitchenwares, and more!

  • All items are offered at enticingly low starting prices, usually less than $10. Low opening prices drive buyer interest and engagement and result in higher final sale values.

  • Unsold items remain in the home.

If you require the home be completely empty, ACES offers an optional full removal service.

Logistics & Marketing

  • Auctions are advertised to our extensive mailing list of local-market buyers and are cross posted to online marketplaces, aggregators, and social media sites. A typical ACES Online sale has several hundred registered bidders.

  • ACES will move all items from inside the home to a designated pickup area, either outside or in a garage, so no buyers come inside the home. This step may happen on the pickup day, or the day before—we will work with you and your schedule.

Payment & Fees

  • ACES works on consignment basis and our commission is our only charge. All expenses associated with your project are included in the commission. This means ACES only gets paid when we sell items for you. Commission rates are dependent on the size, scope, and projected value of a project.

  • For ACES Online auctions, we pay (either by wire transfer or check) within 14 days from the designated auction pickup day.
